These solutions require comprehensive engineering, design documentation, project management, and implementation, and ongoing service to deliver unparalleled client experience.

We are seeking a proven leader as our Director of Low-Voltage Design & Engineering to provide the foundation for such solutions. You will lead a team of low-voltage systems engineers in the creation of project system documentation that enables accurate proposals, coordination with 3rd parties, field implementation, programming, and ongoing service of these systems. Additionally, you will be the  the primary liaison between sales, design, project delivery, and service.  

An ideal candidate will come from a low-voltage or electrical background with an understanding of the various subsystems used and documentation required for elite residential technology projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

Design & Engineering Team:

  • Lead/Manage/Accountability for Design Team:
    • Personal & Professional Development
    • Time Cards
    • Performance Evaluations
    • Assignment of Tickets/Work Orders
    • Team Culture: Lead, Create, Hire Accordingly
    • Measurables for the team and hold them accountable
  • Define and maintain an approved:
    • Scalable and repeatable design process
    • List of vendors, categories, and models that are allowed on proposals
    • Workflow for design documentation and proposal creation 
    • Documentation package that is complete, accurate, and enables production team and service team to be efficient and effective
    • Quality control of the design process and corresponding documentation
    • Evaluation criteria to determine new vendors, categories, models - select and implement as required
    • Evaluation criteria to determine problematic vendors, categories, models - modify and replace as required
  • Company-wide Collaboration:
    • Partner with Operations & Leadership to drive standardized solutions.
    • Maintain company online knowledge-base (white papers, videos, knowledge articles, and FAQs)
    • Determine issues with vendors/products and take corrective action to redefine standards

Job Qualifications

  • 5yrs of Low-Voltage Technology Design & Documentation in a Built Environment (Residential or Commercial)
  • 5yrs Software Skills: AutoCAD, Visio, ConnectWise, PlanGrid, D-Tools, Adobe PDF, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
  • Knowledge of the construction and design/build industry (contract structures, trade coordination, and project management).
  • Ability to create, read, and interpret blueprints, electronic schematics, and user manuals.

  • Excellent Written & Verbal
