LV Project Estimator 

Onsite - North Georgia

6-Month Contact (Contract to Hire)

Synergis’ client, a leading services organization who specializes in LV electrical projects, has engaged us in a search for Low Voltage Estimator.  The successful candidate will work from project data gathered from customers through onsite & sales staff and put together estimates with materials, prices, scope of work, etc.  Projects will vary from commercial, hi-tech data centers to hi-tech smart residential housing projects and healthcare institutions.

LV Project Estimator | Background and Scope 

• Customer calls and follow-ups
• Accuracy of Estimates
• Ensure others review drawings, specification and all other construction documents
• Participate in preparation of schedules for estimating requests and discuss staffing requirements
• Participate in preparation of General Conditions estimate and reviews
• Preparation of preliminary, schematic, design development, and construction estimates
• Participate in pre-construction, design development to detect over-runs and potential problem areas
• Participate in value engineering process
• Support Business Development
• Maintain all current estimating records, studies and unit pricing
• Assist Project Managers in evaluating and analyzing subcontractor proposals
• Resolving issues related to the project
• Prepare sub-contractor agreements
• Assist other estimators and project managers where any assistance is needed.

LV Project Estimator | Requirements

• 5 years+ experience in electrical low voltage electrical estimating or equivalent experience as a low voltage installation technician who is very interested in growing into an estimating role
• Experience with fiberoptics, copper cabling, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, security, fire alarm systems
• Strong communication skills
• Able to create functional design drawings as well as cable riser diagrams and all architectural drawings
• Convert staff / customer data and information into pricing and scope of work estimates using:
  • Q360
• Experience estimating for:
  • Commercial buildings
  • Data centers
  • Hospitals
• Previous experience installing and/or maintaining low voltage cabling (Fiber and twisted pair - mainly Ethernet - and coax)
• Knowledge of one or more of the below:
  • Security Systems (Crime Prevention Systems) 
  • Fire Alarm Systems 
  • Access Control Systems
  • Smart Devices
  • Digital Displays
• Previous experience working with an Audio-Visual services provider
• Understanding of access control / IP Camera Security systems.
• Superior client relationship management is a requirement for this position (i.e. exhibiting the ability to create an atmosphere of tension relief during high stress encounters)
• Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video and networking equipment 

LV Project Estimator | Preferred

• Experience with Bluebeam highly desired

LV Project Estimator | Other:

• 5 Days a week onsite at client headquarters in Gainesville, GA
• Demonstrate a legal ability to work within the United States via I9 verification.  Ability to work for any US based company without sponsorship now or anytime in the future

The hourly pay range for this position is $35-$45 an hour. Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K and commuter benefits.
