Job Overview: At APT – Advanced Prop Tech, we connect technologies to solve business challenges. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our rapidly growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various low voltage systems, ensuring efficient and reliable functionality. Responsibilities: • Perform cable pull paths, diagnose structural/room interiors for efficient installations, and crimp/terminate audio and video cables. • Pre-wire Cat6 and Cat6A during the rough-in phase, trim as scheduled, and test/certify in the final phase. • Install access control cabling, keypads, and connect to magnetic locks or electric strikes. • Install Smart door locks and thermostats, commission systems, and provide training to property management. • Assist in the installation of displays, screens, and projectors. • Maintain a professional work appearance and uphold outstanding customer service standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Install, terminate, and test low voltage cables and fiber optic cables. • Route cable through conduit, above ceilings, and between floors according to job specifications. • Travel extensively when needed, with occasional Sunday deployments. • Provide or relocate cable and modular connections. • Assist in the installation of communications hardware. • Complete projects within budget, on time, and in a safe manner. • Generate daily and weekly reports, highlighting work completed, challenges, and action steps with green, yellow, or red indicators. Physical Requirements: The physical demands outlined below are representative and may be adjusted for reasonable accommodations: • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. • Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms for up to eight hours daily. • Coordinate hands and eyes while using automated tools and equipment. • Handle a variety of items, equipment, control knobs, switches, etc. • Climb up and down ladders (8 feet routinely). • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl in various environments (basements, crawl spaces, attic/ceilings, etc.).
